Online GPs provide healthcare services, care and treatment that are delivered remotely and staff are not required to physically move, transfer, reposition or otherwise manually handle patients as part of their role; therefore this policy relates solely to the moving and handling of inanimate objects arising from work activities.
Manual handling includes lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying or otherwise moving or supporting a load. Even relatively ordinary workplace activities can result in injury where they involve excessive loads, awkward postures, repetitive movements, unsuitable environments or individual factors that increase risk.
