This policy describes the arrangements in place to ensure that all staff can recognise the signs of a medical emergency, respond appropriately, and escalate patients promptly to emergency services or other urgent care providers.

This polict is written for services who provide healthcare exclusively through remote video consultations and therefor where clinicians cannot provide hands-on emergency treatment. This policy establishes procedures to:

• Identify medical emergencies promptly.
• Support patients in accessing emergency care without delay.
• Protect patient safety during remote consultations.
• Ensure clear communication, documentation and escalation.
• Meet regulatory requirements for safe care and treatment.
